| | Whilst cleaning out my grandparents' house - which had check records from 1943 in old coffee cans and required three separate trips with a flatbed truck just to clear away the garbage - I said, "Wow. They kept everything but the kitchen sink."
Two minutes later, as if by kismet, I discovered not one, but two old sinks in the back of the attic, along with a toilet. Never hurts to be safe, I guess. Sounds like very much a response to living in/through the Depression. |
