This post reminded me of the first semester I lived at college. A central bathroom and shower connected two rooms with two roommates to each room. I think the dorm officials called it a suite but it was nowhere close.
The guy I shared a room with was fastidious about everything. The sink in our room was cleaned daily and the guy even hung his shorts on hangers in the closet. Consequently, our room was kept somewhat tidy. Our suitemates were another story altogether. There room was littered with pizza bikes, dining hall takeout and clothes stolen from my closet. The mustiness of unwashed clothing and moldy cheese permeated the room and we could smell it in the hallway. The bathroom was a demilitarized zone.
