So Where Is That Ferrett Boy Today?
"Ferrett," you cry, your breath coming in short spurts. "Wasn't the Jones Soda Tasting Party yesterday? The one with the extra flavors? What happened, man, what happened?"

Alas! I wish I could tell you. But I can't find my camera cable in the welter of plastic-coated lines I have hanging about, and between that and my unstable computer and my need to get actual work done in here somewhere, I'm not finding the time. Alas. But as a short preview, lemme tell you: Man, Jones Soda has sold out.

No, seriously. But more details later. Eventually.

In other news, I was sufficiently inspired by The Pursuit of Happyness and its eternally-grim story that we must triumph over the odds that I went back to flog Ye Olde Unsellable Novel again. Okay, I've only been shopping it about for two months now, but dangit - it should be sold by now. It's like microwave popcorn, baby, it should be hot 'n' fresh on my doorstep right now. So I'm bugging people and so forth to ensure that I'm doing everything I can to get my little puppy out the door and into the cold cruel world where it can die on the shelves like every other goddamn book.

Man, I've spent too long in the publishing industry to have a shred of hope. Heh.

I'm curious: when you get this novel published, am I going to see it on a shelf with Ferrett Steinmetz as the listed author, or are you going to use your given name/a pen name?

The Antacid soda's disclaimer amuses the hell out of me, and the Dessert Pack looks so drinkable that I live in fear of what the Banana Creme Pie soda might be like.

But I finally own the holiday pack for one of these years.

I'm coming at this from the simpleminded perspective of "Flist person A wants to publish book, Flist person B has published two books, Flist person C has also published a book or two and is amusing-if-deeply-cynical about the whole thing: Hmm... let's fling them together!"

So maybe you'd find discussions with [info]flemco and [Bad username: sclerotic rings] useful?
