The Sickness Is Gettin' Ya The good news: I can now think clearly enough to map out program flows in my mind and see where things are going wrong.
The bad news: I am still sufficiently stupid that I'm failing to catch the syntax errors - a bracket here, an unclosed parenthesis here.
The worse news: I'm working in JavaScript today, not my usual PHP, so neither my IDE nor my default brain are catching these before I get a runtime error.
But hey! It's work. I'm working. Sorta.

The Music, Man I think being without Rock Band has put me on a kick lately. So let me show you the latest things that are burning up my playlists:
11h30, by Danger This French electronica is bizarrely chunky, with a rapidly-switching bass groove that will eat your face with funk without ever settling into repetition. The lyrics to this one are just hyper-crazy, but were I a man who ran out to the dance floor on a regular basis, this is undoubtedly my rave of choice. Many will find it annoying; I find it truly awesome.
Love Song, by Sara Bareilles Perhaps the most brutal lyrics ever put to such a happy tune, this is really the starkest look at a relationship I've ever seen. You know the guy asked for it, and this song tanked a relationship. But it's such a jaunty little tune that it's like opening a Twinkie to find a blood-encrusted razor - in its own way, the tension between the teeny pop and the push-you-away words is what makes it.
I Don't Wanna Be In Love (Dance Floor Anthem), by Good Charlotte According to Pandora, I have a weakness for songs with sparse guitar, strong vocals, and a repetitive backbeat. Well, goddamn it, they're right. But this one has a chorus that we've all wanted to shout to the rafters from time to time, and it's got that do the white-boy-pogo on the dance floor that I love doing.
Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill), by Wyclef Jean Wyclef Jean hits all of my buttons - he's got a distinctive sense of rhythm, his songs are erratic, and no two of his songs ever sound alike. This isn't quite as catchy as "It Doesn't Matter" (though what song wouldn't be improved by The Rock shouting the chorus?), but considering the subject matter it feels like an oddly tender song.
No, Gini, this isn't the Macarena. Goddammit.
Fake It, by Seether This one reminds me a lot of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus," the only Depeche Mode song I ever really liked. But it's distinctly crunchy metal, with a shuffle rhythm that really breaks open in the chorus. Also, I like the choice of going with a janglier guitar on the build-up, since they could have easily gone completely metal and instead held back a little to make the chorus that much more potent.
(Also, this song would be completely off the hook on Rock Band.)
The Shouty Track, by Lemon Jelly Sometimes, I just want a fucking groove. Don't fuck it up with words. Don't give me a different chorus. Just give me an electronic surf I can ride to a virtual orgasm. Bring me that beat and let me sink into it.
This is that song.

An Ad That Made Me Terrified So I was Stumbling, and found a porn site with this interesting ad:
"Meet Adult Friend Finder members near Norwalk - over 20 million members!"
And I thought, "Wow, that's impressive. According to the official estimates, Norwalk has only 84,000 people. Where the hell are all of these swingers hiding?"
Then I suddenly felt trapped. Because this wasn't a porn enticement - it was a cryptic warning. The Great Swingers' Battallion is kicking into gear - they've had enough of skulking in the shadows, only occasionally showing up in silhouette in sleazy 60 Minutes exposes. No, they've gathered together on the outskirts of Norwalk, a tribe 20 million strong wearing lingerie and thrusting sharpened dildo-axes high in the air, stomping their feet as they proceed to pillage and rape their way across this quiet little town.
They are naked, horny, and dripping with unspeakable bodily fluids. They will not stop until they have claimed this town the way they claimed their neighbor's wife two weeks ago at Club Escape. Finally, they will create their own town where all can fuck naked on the lawns as they see fit, their morality rising to occlude the old one, where it will be seen as freakish not to fuck anyone who catches your interest.
Anyone not on board with the new regime will be summarily crushed under the slutty red high-heeled shoe of our new insex overlords.
I'm peering out the window now. I can see their naked flesh, jiggling in the twilight. They crouch by the edge of I-95, assembled into great fleshy wings, an invading armada ready to penetrate this virgin territory.
Twenty million adult friends. Ready to pounce.
They only come at night.

All The Cool Kids Are Doing It Guess the movies these quotes are from. No Googling. Play fair. Also, Gini, sorry, but you can't play.
1. "On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero." Fight Club, by entwithanaxe
2. "It's kind of like the abortion issue." (Half a quote, but you'll know it if you see it.) The King of Kong, by elfiepike
3. "Someone didn't bother reading my carefully prepared memo on commonly-used passwords." Hackers, by inaurolillium
4. "It's a crowd favorite. Everybody loves a good jazz square." High School Musical, by daghain, who was the last person I would have thought to get it.
5. "Take a breath and look around. A lot of folks deserve to die." Little Shop of Horrors, by prodigal
6. "Did you ever wonder about all the different ways of dying? You know, violently?" Return of the Living Dead, by jasmine_koran, who impressed me mightily with this one
7. "Everyone has the right to make an ass out of themselves. You just can't let the world judge you too much." Harold and Maude, by xeresrazor, beating coyotegoth by ninety seconds.
8. "And what you fail to remember is that my ship is dragging mines!" Galaxy Quest, by onceupon
9. "I've always wished it would be gay. It would be a lot easier. You know, it's just bing! Bing! Gay guys, no problem. They go to rest rooms and truck stops to perform sex. It's like so easy for them." Grizzly Man, by freak_in_need, who's never even seen the fucking movie, but remembers this from my review.
10. "My easy-goin' nature is getting sorely fuckin' tested." Slither, by badnoodles
All right. I know, only ten, but go nuts.
