Quality Love
So today's kind of a pain-in-the-butt day, since some server issues mean we have to do some hardware swaps - nothing out of the ordinary, but it has the potential to cause whole days to vanish should something go wrong. And we had it planned for early in the morning, just so if something did go wrong I'd be awake and alert during the day (unlike a ghastly "standard-issue" changeover that caused a thirty-six hour shift).
I was supposed to be ready at six a.m., but I couldn't sleep. I was thrashy and nervous. So at three in the morning, after nightmares of Drowner of Secrets and Linux conventions, I got up.
"Where are you going?" Gini asked sleepily. She hadn't had a great night, either; when one of us is thrashy, neither one sleeps well.
"Can't sleep," I said. "I'm just gonna get up."
"No," she said. "You need to be rested." And she pulled me back down to her, and held me so closely and sweetly that I had no choice to fall asleep, deep and well, until the alarm went off at 5:30.
That's why I love her. She cares about me so much. Even though it would have been a lot more convenient for her to just say, "All right, get up, I'll catch some Zs," she showed me her love with a hug as warm as the summer and a love as palpable as... well, as Gini herself.
I'll remember that. I'll remember the smell of her pajamas, redolent with her scent. I'll remember the way she pulled me tight but not too tight, stroking my arms gently to let me know that everything was all right. I'll remember the feel of her cheek on my shoulder, the light brush of her hair.
I love her. I love her so much.

Fun Facts About The Weasel, And The Future
One thing that many forget about me is that I have a nipple piercing. It's become sadly workaday, but my nipple is like the Spanish Inquisition: nobody ever sees it coming, since they assume I'm horrifically vanilla. And it is a little weird, now that my earrings have fallen out; my only piercing remnant is hidden.
So I'm thinking about piercing my eyebrow. I've always liked eyebrow piercings. Far as I'm concerned, they look cool. But Gini thinks they look dorky. (Then again, she didn't like the nipple ring at first. Now she does.)

From Beyond may well be the worst movie I've seen this year. And that's rolling back twelve months.
So awful it... Well, no, it doesn't transcend awful. It's just awful.
