I think it'll be like it is for the Fred Savage character in The Princess Bride for a lot of kids. Parents going "Isn't that a great beginning" and gushing at their favorite parts, with the kids being largely unimpressed until it gets to the exciting parts.

Will it be a classic in the same vein as LOTR and Little House and A Wrinkle in Time? Perhaps not.

But I don't know that I've ever experienced this world-wide love of a book before, and I don't know that I ever will again. Publishers can find books that are popular and resonate with a shit-ton of people, like Twilight, but do I think Twilight's going to pass the generation test? Probably not.

at least the harry potter movies were better than the wrinkle in time movie.
