Conversations With My Mom
ME: Now that I have all the power tools to start woodworking, I've got some big choices ahead of me. Since I can do anything, I have to figure out which body part to lop off first.

MOM: Oh no! I want your fingers on!

ME: Well, don't you miss me here out in California?

MOM: Of course.

ME: Well, I could send bits of me out to you. In little boxes.

MOM: Oh! If you sent me three fingers, I could prop 'em up in a tripod and make a little plant stand!

(Tell me I'm full of it)

So obviously what you need to do for your mother's next birthday is purchase three of these:

see? Why can't I have these conversations with MY mom?

(actually, once when I was 4 or 5, I noted that there appeared to be something in her sock - I believe that it was just a particularly bulky seam - she told me that when she was walking down the street she found a toe lying on the sidewalk. She figured she'd like to keep it, so tucked it in her sock with her other toes for safekeeping. - I was HORRIFIED!)
