Thank You, rbradakis! Who doesn't want a GlaDOS ringtone?
(Sorry, Eric. Yours is good, but not the coolest.)

Okay, now you're all just going to have to put your phones on vibrate around me if you use this ringtone so I don't answer my phone.
As a different Eric, I opt for Doctor Who theme remixes and cloister bells myself. ^_^

In trying to think of male computer voices, the author could think if KITT but forgot HAL9000?
I sent the article to my teenage son.

Robby (Forbidden Planet, Lost in Space, and plenty of cameos)... Colossus (Forbin Project)... Joshua (War Games)... And of course, K-9 (Doctor Who).
Some of us could keep going with the lists. ^_^ (edit: Master Typoist struck again with the punctuation.)

Very, very true. HAL9000 was just the first computer voice to come to mind. Perhaps because HAL9000 and GlaDOS are such a good match. http://www.xkcd.com/375/

This has nothing to do with this post, really. I just wanted to let you know that I emailed you an *ahem* picture and that you should check your spam folder if you don't see it. ^_^

Sorry, that was me and I forgot I wasn't logged in on this computer.

Oh, awesome.
My ringtone is currently the "radio mix" of Still Alive - the tinny, pop-like version that plays when you pick up a radio in Portal. It sounds great coming out of my phone.
never played Portal, but that's a really great ringtone. Made me laugh so hard my SO on computer in other room wanted to know what was up.
Ah, but that's not a ringtone-- it's a sarcastic call notification. Mine includes an actual phone ringing, not to mention the Yip-Yips, and is therefore a way cooler ringtone. Now, I will hear no more of this foolishness.

My ringtone is the theme from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. "Oo! The aliens are calling me! I must go!"
As much of a gamer dork I am, as much as I love GLaDOS, and as terribly awesome as this ringtone is - one is hilarious and relevant to now, one is classic. I think the yips will win in the end. |
