Silurians and Sea Devils were related, and less villainous (except in certain efforts) than misunderstood and out of place; one of the Third Doctor's great losses.

That is the fucking Sontarans you see. Rumors were rampant that this season would get the Ice Warriors, but no go. There will be Daleks, too, closing out the season. Whether or not Davros will be along is still not confirmed.

I hate her oh so so much. I hope she dies screaming at the end of this season. Another season of Tennant is awesome. The Ood again are awesome. People with guns are awesome (one reason I like Torchwood is that the lead character actually fights on occasion rather than arguing his way out of everything.)

But that damn runaway bride is so. so. annoying.

I thought the same thing, but I've been told by my UK friends that her character isn't as much of a PITA as she was in the Runaway Bride. I don't know how they know but I trust them so I'll give her a chance.

They used that same music right at the end of Utopia (the first third of last season's finale). Beyond that, I'm not sure.

Andrew and I bought, independently of each other, Dalek themed Easter goodies. I now own a giant mug with daleks on it, and his giant egg-containing Dalek box has a sound bite that, when you push the button, shouts EXTERMINATE! Hurrah for Doctor Who. :D

Am I the only one who...

a) was actually looking forward to the Runaway Bride companion coming back, so the Doc finally gets a companion who gives him what for instead of getting all weak-kneed at the sight of him?

b) was pissed off to see her doing exactly that in this teaser?

The "hip, sexy young doctor whose companion falls in unrequited love with him" thing has been done. Twice. Three times if you count the last Christmas special. Producers, there's more than one kind of relationship, already!

*goes off to watch old Ace and Leela episodes*

I was sorta torn, during "The Runaway Bride," but by the end I wanted to see her return.

I'm surprised at the change of attitude in the trailer. I think I'd like to see a little more Leela - hell, even Teagan - and at first I thought Rose was going to be another Ace.

Maybe we'll get 'lucky' and TRB will be a hormonal mess that oscillates between being weak in the knees and a raging beyotch...?

I guessed that she wouldn't be as annoying as in the Runaway Bride, but hoped that she would be in opposition to the remorselessness of Ten, and be someone he interacts with as more equals/friends, rather than as romantic on either side.

But I suppose that wouldn't be enough for the romance lovers...

Man, I am so freakin' excited to actually see Rose back. The show's never been the same without her. Martha was great, having Jack around (if even just in Torchwood) was great, and now having Donna and Sontarans and Ood etc. etc. makes for a very promising season, but man, nothing tops seeing Rose again...

Now all we need is more Judoon, (ooh, and some Ice Warriors), and we're in business.
