So the kicker: I call, and this technofuckwipe didn't even give me his number. He gave me someone else's number, who knew nothing about this. God DAMN, I am going to have to work harder on killing people with my psychic mind powers.

I did IT and tech support for years and I am constantly amazed at how stupid alot of computer users are. After reading this, I must marvel at how stupid TECH SUPPORT can be.

Are you sure that you were given the right number? Because this sounds awfully stupid on behalf of tech support if so. It sounds like someone pulling one over on you and laughing about it on the other end. No, this was an actual guy. When the day is done and the dust settled, I will post the full details and you will realize that this guy is about average for WebAuthorities. That's both funny as hell and very depressing/disturbing at the same time.

I hope you don't mind; I submitted this to the "War Stories & Other Tickets" forum at The Chronicles of George. If you go to their main page you'll discover "George" was a particularly un-helpful and massively clueless Level-1 help desk rep. This guy makes George look competent. If you go, look for "The most frustrating level-1 tech support person ever." No problem. This looks like an entertaining site; I'll have to browse at some point... |
